Lazy Sundays.

I love lazy Sundays. LOVE.

It’s Sunday afternoon and it appears to be the start of another Sunday spent in bed, keeping out of the rain and trying to get rid of the cold that snuck up on me so quickly. Days like these are perfect for warm cups of tea, snuggles with the bf, and time spent watching marathons of movies and TV series. Over the years, I have spent many Sundays in bed snuggled up in a sea of white blankets, only to get up to answer the door for my take-out order or to pour myself another glass of wine. My best Sundays in bed led me to list a few great you tube clips that always, no matter what, give me goose bumps and an overwhelming feeling of happiness.

Cheers to a happy Sunday.

Clip 1: Californication. Letter to Karen.

I was introduced to this show and within two days I watched all of Season 1 and 2. I even bet the video store guy that I would be back for Season 2 later on, and much to his surprise, there I was requesting the second disc later that day, nonetheless without a proper ride or appropriate winter attire. I, in my usual Sunday fashion, showed up by cab (who was so kindly waiting outside for me) wearing shorts that should only be seen inside the walls of my own home and ugg boots. Shocker. The guy was so amused by my dedication to the show that he ended up giving me the second disc for free... or maybe it was due to the short shorts, who knows. I love everything about this show and I mean, could Karen be any more perfect? Seriously though.  This letter... this letter is... whew.

Dear Karen,

If you're reading this, it means I actually worked up the courage to mail it. So, good for me. You don't know me very well but if you get me started, I have a tendency to go on and on about how hard the writing is for me. But this... this is the hardest thing I've ever had to write. There's no easy way to say this, so I'll just say it. I met someone. It was an accident. I wasn't looking for it. I wasn't on the make. It was a perfect storm. She said one thing. I said another. Next thing I knew, I wanted to spend the rest of my life in the middle of that conversation. Now there's this feeling in my gut. She might be the one. She's completely nuts... in a way that makes me smile -- highly neurotic. A great deal of maintenance required. She is you, Karen. That's the good news. The bad is that I don't know how to be with you right now and it scares the shit out of me because if I'm not with you right now, I have this feeling we'll get lost out there. It's a big, bad world full of twists and turns, and people have a way of blinking and missing the moment...the moment that could've changed everything. I don't know what's going on with us, and I can't tell you why you should waste a leap of faith on the likes of me... but, damn, you smell good -- like home. And you make excellent coffee. That's got to count for something, right? Call me.

Unfaithfully yours,

Hank Moody

Clip 2: The Holiday.

I can not even begin to tell you how many times I have seen this movie. I love it for so many reasons. My favorite scene is the restaurant scene - cut to 3:06 minutes in the clip. It has to do with my love for the song and something about Graham's (Judd Law) smile when he spots Amanda (Cameron Diaz) across the room. Ah the feelings of a new found love. ♥

Let Go - Frou Frou

Drink up baby doll
Are you in or are you out?
Leave your things behind
'Cause it's all going off without you
Excuse me too busy you're writing your tragedy
These mishaps
You bubble-wrap
When you've no idea what you're like

So, let go, let go
Jump in
Oh well, what you waiting for?
It's all right
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown
So, let go, let go
Just get in
Oh, it's so amazing here
It's all right
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown

It gains the more it gives
And then it rises with the fall
So hand me that remote
Can't you see that all that stuff's a sideshow?
Such boundless pleasure
We've no time for later
Now you can't await
your own arrival
you've twenty seconds to comply

So, let go, so let go
Jump in
Oh well, what you waiting for?
It's alright
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown
So, let go, yeah let go
Just get in
Oh, it's so amazing here
It's all right
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown

In the breakdown
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown
The breakdown

So amazing here
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown

Clip 3: Almost Famous. Bus Scene.

One word. Monumental.

Tiny Dancer - Elton John

Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

Jesus freaks out in the street
Handing tickets out for God
Turning back she just laughs
The boulevard is not that bad

Piano man he makes his stand
In the auditorium
Looking on she sings the songs
The words she knows the tune she hums

But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly slowly

Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
you had a busy day today

Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand
